I've put a little rush on some Christmas items this week as I wanted to add some to the auction I'm donating to over at one of my favourite charities Little Angel Memory Boxes. I'd aimed to make a few items this time around and being close to Christmas it made sense.
My punch reindeer is definitely not a new addition to my creative papercraft, he was a feature of last year's Christmas cards and teacher treats. The card is on my blog but I never go around to putting up photos of the treat packs.
They are so super easy to make, you just need the two-step owl punch and a snowflake punch or die. SU no longer make the punch but I have purchased their new die and as it has three different snowflakes it is perfect.
You choose whichever colour you'd like your face to be and punch just the owl body out, then snip off his little feet. Using the snowflake punched piece, cut the snowflake into three parts as this gives you three pairs of antlers. I love the goggle eyes you can buy from the $2 shops so use those as they make his little face stand out just that little bit more. The red nose is punched from the same owl punch on glitter cardstock. All parts are attached using the two way glue pen.
You'll need the top note die next and your Sizzix BigShot machine so you can die cut several of the top parts. I've used Very Vanilla as I found the Whisper White was too stark for these. After you've cut them fold them in half longways.
The believe is from the newly released Snowflake Soiree set and works in perfectly with a Rudolph reindeer item. It's stamped in Real Red ink so it stands out and matches with his nose and the red Jaffa candy.
Fill up your bag with any candy you like, I choose Maltissers and one Jaffa as I love these chocies as does my little man Noah! Another good option is marshmellows and I'll show you a treat bag using these and another punch hopefully next week.
Seal your bag and using double sided tape - or of course your snail adhesive - attach the believe to the bag on each side. FINISHED! What a perfect little teacher treat or for friends or neighbours.
If you'd like some of these I do sell them on my facebook page N-bellish Handmade so pop over and have a look.
Hugs - Julie
